About ASOCIO
The Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) is an ICT federation organized by ICT associations representing 25 economies throughout the Asia Pacific. ASOCIO was established in 1984 with founding members from Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. It is one of the most established and active international ICT trade organizations in the Asia-Oceania region. Its influence covers more than 20,000 ICT companies across the region. Today, ASOCIO member economies represent a combined ICT market accounting for approximately USD 1 trillion in global ICT revenue.
ASOCIO’s core mission is to promote, encourage, and deepen relationships among its member economies while supporting the long-term development of the ICT and digital technology sectors across the region. Through its diverse initiatives, ASOCIO enables governments, industries, and digital stakeholders to collaborate, share insights, and pursue mutually beneficial opportunities.
Presently, ASOCIO comprises 25 members from Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Lao PDR, Macao, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. Under the ASOCIO umbrella, member economies are provided opportunities to collaborate for growth and regional advancement.
ASOCIO organizes several core activities annually, including the Plenary Meeting, Digital Summit, Digital AI Summit, Digital Cybersecurity Summit, Digital Smart City Summit, and Tech Tourism for Business in different member economies. It also produces inaugural research reports and the ASOCIO Awards. The Digital Summit is recognized as one of the region’s high-powered ICT forums, providing a platform for government and industry leaders to exchange information, build closer relationships, and identify new business opportunities. In addition, ASOCIO presents the prestigious ASOCIO ICT Awards to recognize outstanding contributions and achievements within the ICT sector.
To further advance regional digital transformation, ASOCIO introduced the ASOCIO M.A.D.E. (Mapping ASOCIO Digital Economy) framework, an initiative designed to provide structured, data-driven insights into the evolving digital landscape of the Asia-Pacific. M.A.D.E. serves as a strategic foundation for benchmarking digital readiness, identifying policy gaps, and supporting member economies in shaping effective digital strategies.
Under this framework, ASOCIO produces its annual flagship research and policy reports, offering actionable recommendations and best practices to guide sustainable digital development.
Through its events, initiatives, and the ASOCIO M.A.D.E. framework, ASOCIO continues to lead the region’s digital collaborative efforts, driving innovation, empowering member economies, and advancing a resilient, inclusive, and competitive digital Asia-Pacific.
