ASOCIO Smart City Award 2026

The ASOCIO Smart City Award 2026 is a prestigious international award organized by the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) to recognize outstanding achievements in smart city development and digital transformation across the Asia-Pacific region. The Award honors cities, public sector organizations, and technology innovators that have successfully leveraged digital technologies to improve urban governance, enhance public services, foster sustainable economic growth, and create more livable, resilient, and citizen-centric communities.

The 2026 edition is proudly hosted by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) as the National Host Organization. By bringing together leading cities, government agencies, technology enterprises, and international experts, the Award serves as a regional platform to showcase best practices, promote cross-border collaboration, and accelerate the adoption of innovative smart city solutions throughout the Asia-Pacific.

The ASOCIO Smart City Award 2026 recognizes excellence in three award categories:

  1. Smart Cities – honoring cities and urban areas with a population of 10,000 or more that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in planning, implementing, and operating smart city initiatives. Evaluation focuses on measurable impacts in digital governance, urban management, sustainability, public service delivery, economic development, and quality of life for citizens.
  2. Solutions for Smart Urban Operations & Public Services – recognizing innovative digital products, platforms, and technologies that enable governments and city operators to improve urban planning, infrastructure management, transportation, utilities, public safety, environmental monitoring, and the efficient delivery of public services.
  3. Solutions for Smart Living and Communities – celebrating innovative solutions that enhance the daily lives of citizens and strengthen communities through digital technologies. Eligible solutions may address areas such as healthcare, education, housing, mobility, culture, tourism, community engagement, accessibility, social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and citizen well-being.

The Award emphasizes real-world implementation and measurable impact, recognizing initiatives that have delivered tangible benefits rather than concepts or pilot ideas alone. Winners represent the region’s leading examples of digital innovation, serving as benchmarks for other cities and organizations while contributing to the advancement of smarter, more sustainable, and more inclusive communities across Asia and Oceania.
